Sonia Méndez is a talented director and screenwriter with an outstanding career in the audiovisual world. Her latest feature film «Boulevard», will be available in Prime Video. In 2018, she founded Cósmica Productions with Nati Juncal Portas, making it the driving force behind her most ambitious projects. With her production company, she wrote and directed «As Neves», her first fiction feature film, which was selected at the Málaga and San Sebastián festivals and awarded the Mestre Prize for Best Feature Film. She has also led the series «Antes de perder» for Playz-RTVE, which won the Mestre Mateo Award in 2020, and the documentary «A poeta analfabeta» which explores the life of Galician poet Luz Fandiño and received awards at the Muestra Internacional de Cine Etnográfico, as well as being a finalist at the Mestre Mateo Awards. Her talent has been recognized for years, earning the Mestre Mateo Award for Best Short Film in 2011 and 2012 for «As damas negras» and «Conversa cunha muller morta». In addition, since 2014, she has directed the Festival de Contenidos Digitales Carballo Interplay, establishing herself as a key figure in Galician audiovisual innovation.
