Anaïs Pareto Onghena

Anaïs Pareto Onghena is a Barcelona-born director and screenwriter, recognized for her cinematic approach, which emphasizes realism and delves into the emotional journeys of her characters. In recent years, she has directed television series such as «Ena. La reina Victoria Eugenia» and «33 días» and episodes of «Express» and «El Ministerio del Tiempo». Her second feature film, «Santa Bárbara» (2022), premiered in the official selection of the Morelia International Film Festival to great acclaim. She settled in Mexico for ten years, where, after studying documentary filmmaking, she began making films independently. Her short films and debut feature, «Sinvivir», were selected and awarded at numerous festivals around the world. Trained in film directing at ESCAC, she completed her studies at EICTV in Cuba, the CCC in Mexico, and a master’s degree in Visual Anthropology from the University of Barcelona.
