Àlex Lora

Àlex Lora is a director and screenwriter with a distinguished career recognized with seven New York Emmys, a Goya Award, and two Gaudí Awards. He is currently working on his upcoming feature film, «L’escletxa», slated for release in 2026. In 2023, he premiered his second feature, «Unicorns», produced by Inicia Films with the support of TV3 and RTVE, and selected for the Málaga Film Festival. In 2021, he made his feature screenwriting debut with «We Are Live Things», acclaimed at Slamdance. His latest short film, «The Masterpiece», has won the Forqué Award, the Jury Prize at Sundance, and the Goya Award for Best Short Film, and was shortlisted for the 2025 Oscars. As a documentarian, his notable works include «Thy Father’s Chair» (2016) and «The Fourth Kingdom»(2019), winner of the Gaudí Award for Best Documentary and nominated for a Goya. Àlex is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of the United States.
